PastorAlvin P. Franklin, Jr is the Senior Pastor of Higher Ground Ministries. He also is the CEO for Imago Dei Community Development Inc and was the co-founder of The ArtGro Foundation an organization that focused on the needs of at-risk youth. In these capacities, he has worked alongside the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, with the goal of stopping the cycle of juvenile delinquency and empowering the next generation of community leaders. He is a licensed and ordained Minister, and was previously the Associate Pastor of the Macedonia Church of Grovetown. He has worked in several different capacities with the Richmond County Board of Education to include teaching at the alternative school with Dr. Wayne Frazier. During the 2009-2010 school year he mentored the 7th and 8th graders at Sego Middle School along with his wife Barbara Franklin. He was a program director for Communities In Schools for 1 1/2 years. He is a graduate of Paine College and intends to work collectively with the Richmond County School System, Law Enforcement, and other agencies to provide programs that will make a difference. Having been a troubled teen himself gives him an edge on being able to recognize and relate to the problems of the youth.
Minister Barbara Franklin is the Associate Pastor of Higher Ground Ministry and the President of Imago Dei Community Development Inc. She holds a degree in Gerontology, and has worked extensively with the Area Agency on Aging, as well as working with her husband in the Art Gro Foundation. She also has experience in Care Management Programs. She is the author of three self published books of poetry and the creator of several productions. She and Mr. Franklin have performed in several different venues to include colleges, universities, art galleries, and museums across the southeastern area of the United States. She is a licensed minister with a vast amount of biblical knowledge and a passion to serve God’s people.
Minister Jacob Medley serves as an Associate Pastor of Higher Ground Ministry, and also serves on the board of directors for Imago Dei Community Development, Inc. Min. Medley has years of experience as a youth minister, as well as extensive experience instructing Bible Study and Sunday School. He attended seminary at Luther Rice College and Seminary in Lithonia, GA. He is currently attending medical school outside of the country, but continues to serve the ministry by filming bible studies and managing the website and social media profiles for Imago Dei and Higher Ground Ministries.
